Welcome to QSAFe
Advancing Quality and Culturally Safer Simulation-Based Education
The Quality Simulation Assurance Framework (QSAFe) is an evidence-informed quality assurance and benchmarking framework designed to support consistent, high-quality simulation-based learning across health professions education.
Developed through international research collaboration and in partnership with First Nations peoples contributors from Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand, QSAFe helps educators and institutions translate simulation standards into practice while embedding principles of cultural safety, cultural humility and meaningful co-design.
QSAFe enables organisations to:
- Benchmark simulation activities against recognised standards
- Identify strengths and opportunities for improvement
- Support accreditation and quality assurance processes
- Promote consistency across simulation programs
- Embed culturally safer practices within simulation design and delivery
- Strengthen educator capability regardless of simulation experience
By combining educational quality with cultural responsiveness, QSAFe supports simulation programs that prepare learners for safe, effective and culturally safer healthcare practice.
A practical framework for quality assurance,
continuous improvement, and culturally safer simulation.
Our Vision
To support simulation programs that are educationally rigorous, culturally responsive, and demonstrably aligned with best practice standards, ultimately contributing to a healthcare workforce capable of providing high-quality, culturally safer care.
Quality simulation. Meaningful partnership. Culturally safer practice.
